Field Notes: Caring For Technical Fabrics

Ripstop, waxed cotton, and technical shells all need different care than a regular cotton tee. Wash cold, skip the fabric softener — it breaks down water-repellent coatings — and air dry away from direct heat. For waxed canvas pieces, a light re-wax every season keeps the finish and the water resistance intact.
